Social Responsibility


Embafort believes that ethical behavior is a requirement for all the staff. This topic can be also explained in the three basic guidelines established: the preservation of the environment, human development management and the perpetuation of the company.
These values strengthen the incorporation of high ethical patterns within the organization. The directors and the rest of the staff are an example of professional and personal roles concerning the ethical behavior.

According to the organizational guidelines, the standards of behavior found in the collaborator’s manual, work as a starting point for the workforce to relate to itself.
Our main objective is not giving assistance, but creating consistent conditions so the project may have sustainability and continuity, and as a result, adding more value to the project, making it more attractive. This is reached with the strong executive’s network in favor of the community.

 AACJ – ASSOCIAÇÃO ADOLFO CABRAL JUNIOR

Having the well-being of our parties and their relatives in mind, Embafort has created the Associação Adolfo Cabral Junior (Adolfo Cabral Junior Association) in 2003, known as AACJ, which works exclusively with the internal actions of our parties and dependents. AACJ was born from the directors’ desire to enable the staff to grow as good citizens, part of a culture of worth.
Many times, we have redeemed the dignity and the respect of studies and knowledge, through the simple gesture of self-development and self-learning. Embafort believes “there is no growth in the country or in the company, unless there is the development and the preservation of the human being”.

 AACJ’S MAINTNANCE

AACJ is financed with the income of selective garbage collection of qualified recyclers, what allows the sponsorship of a series of actions and benefits to our staff and family members.

 LIBRARY

Initiated in 2004, with various book donations from the AACJ’s library, today, it holds over 3500 catalogs comprised of informative handouts, books, magazines, CDs, and audiovisual material.
Transformed into an area of self-learning and self-development, this collection is available to our staff for research, study and leisure.

 CYBERTECA

The company also holds the Cyberteca space, where staff takes advantage of several computers, used for research, self-learning, school work, interactive games, and computer classes.

 FINANCING

Financial loans are available for staff with over a six-month-record, with a refund done in 5 equal installments with 1, 5% monthly interests, established according to the internal statute.

 LABOR GYMNASTICS IN AFFILIATION WITH PHYSICAL THRAPY AND GPR

The negative side affects of work on the employee’s body and mind may occur in several tasks. The practice of physical exercises has various advantages and benefits, which can soothe daily tensions caused by stress and concentration power.
Created in 1999, Labor Gymnastics was what Embafort found to be the way to reduce the affects of these problems. It is performed three times a week at the workplace by a physical education professional and it is deemed a relaxation moment for our staff.

 LEISURE AREA

Embafort holds indoor and outdoor leisure areas for general use. Here, the staff can meet for a tennis table match, watch TV, or simply relax in a zen space. Embafort is a non-smoking company, but it does hold a smoking area near the external square for employees who do smoke.

 ANNUAL TRAINING PROGRAM

One of Embafort’s values is education; we believe that culture and education must be seen as a continuous process of self-knowledge, which promotes social, psychological and economical well-being. Our company is always in constant change; our team seeks inspiration for the development and creation of new products. We are comprised of a young staff that seeks success, and in order to obtain that, we should not only have passion for what we create, but also know what we are creating and believe in it. With our annual training program, we enable our staff to escape the everyday routine, engage in innovative activities, and also find the passion that is necessary to create. Education, culture and professional enhancement is a priority in our strategic planning.

 VOLUNTARY DONATIONS

Our team believes that one does not need to be big in order to help, and one does not need to be small nor big to be helped. With this principle in mind, Embafort partakes in voluntary donations for institutions that promote appropriate assistance to the community in the health area. Embafort helps with technology and specialization in particular areas with adaptations to the population’s needs. Researches are made on organizations concerning their “seriousness record” in relation to the service regarding the population and in relation to the effort made to update the clinical scenario and the ongoing enhancement of equipments.

 NGO SERPIÁ

Created in February 27 of 2003, NGO SERPIÁ assists children and youngsters in risky situations in their development due to psychological suffering, combining the free play methodology to other   intereducational health areas.
SERPIÁ is a Non-Governmental Organization that focuses on the embracing of children and youngsters with emotional problems which may interfere with their development. With educational and socio-cultural emphasis, SERPIÁ seeks treatment and prevention actions that can diminish or overcome the difficulties regarding the psychic structure, through creativity and symbolic resources, redeeming cultural values.

SERPIÁ offers social and therapeutic programs to soothe the parents’ suffering and also improve the life quality through integrated actions.

SERPIÁ also contributes to the building of knowledge and to the professional enhancement, motivating the dialogue with political parties that promote social support, with the extension of factors regarding risk prevention for children’s health.
SERPIÁ counts with the support of people and companies committed to the social and human development. Embafort contributes to SERPIÁ’s educational staff by assisting the NGO to reach the commitment goals established before the community regarding psychological and therapeutic services.

 CLEANER PRODUCTION X ECODESING

In Embafort’s production cells, all the various types of wood that are used, come from reforestation, which require a Certificate of Origin (CO). Water, chemical components, and other substances that may cause contamination or pollution to the environment are not used in the production process.
In order to minimize the creation of residues and wood waste, due to Cleaner Production’s actions, Embafort earmarks all internal residues for selective garbage collection, followed by later sales to qualified recyclers. By these means, we are able to reverse the revenue and invest in life quality and staff development. As a result of that, the staff helps eagerly with the selective garbage collection process in their homes. Due to this practice, Embafort earmarks the residue leftovers for the production of artifacts within the community, preserving the location’s well-being harmony, since the process has employed approximately 80 artesian families.

 COMMITED TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Our commitment to social responsibility is conscious, and we desire to build a “social technology” and minimize collective problems.
Based on our principles, we keep our environmental commitment by using monthly 40% of our recycled wood in out production line. This reversed logistic helps avoiding the annual cut of 93.1000 trees which contributes to the carbon sequestration. Internal programs such as internal selective garbage collection, smoke control, among other activities, are applied internally as well.
Respect towards the environmental preservation regulations is a task of social responsibility of Embafort. Re-using materials means not extracting from nature. It means to bring forth economy, to create a reversed logistic in association with all those involved

 REVERSED LOGISTIC

With the implantation of wood recycling, reversed logistic was created in order to optimize the costs of our clients, at the pace that our PD&I team readjusted an used package with a new product and with a new logistic system. As a result, the product’s life cycle was able to last 10 times more.
For Embafort and staff, this project means to solidify the company’s core of principles regarding environmental preservation, revolutionizing the recycling of wood.
Nowadays, 99, 9% of Embafort’s clients work with reversed logistic, contributing to our country’s  well-being and environmental growth.
